Multilingual formats

Starting with Mr. Obama's December 6 message, Captioned videos will be multilingual, where the English is always shown and the viewer can select a second language optionally.

• YouTube Videos: For instructions on how to view YouTube video in the second language of choice, go here. YouTube videos might not appear with the second language subtitle you want. You'll need to select it from the subtitle menu option on the bottom right of the YouTube video window. Look for the triangle! You can even have Google translate the subtitle into another language if you don't see the one you want. (Not nearly as good as a personal translation, but somewhat helpful).
• Quicktime videos: Quicktime videos need to be downloaded to your computer to select the second language. They are accessible with the Quicktime Player, iTunes, or on an iPhone/iPod Touch.
  • Windows Users: Right click the video to download it,
  • Mac Users: Wait until the file has been completekly cached, and click on the "Save as Quicktime" option at the bottom right of the video window.
